Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 1, 2026

BadgeDog is operated by Keogan Industries and serves American public safety agencies. This policy explains what we collect and how we handle it — in plain language, because that's how we do everything.

What we collect

Two kinds of information reach us. First, what you send through this site: the contact form (name, email, optional phone, agency, and your message). Second, what a department puts into BadgeDog once it becomes a customer: personnel rosters, schedules, bids, leave records, and the other operational data the product exists to manage.

How we use it

Contact submissions are used to respond to you — that's it. If you leave a phone number, we call it. Department data is used solely to operate the product for that department.

What we never do

  • Sell or rent data — anyone's, ever.
  • Run ads or build advertising profiles.
  • Send marketing drip campaigns or newsletters.
  • Use department data to train AI models, or share it across departments.

Your department owns its data

For customer departments, BadgeDog processes data on the department's behalf and under its direction. The department owns its records — the rosters, the bids, the balances, and the audit trail itself. We're the custodian, not the owner, and every promise on this page follows from that.

How it's protected

Each department lives in its own isolated database. Access inside the product is role-based and every meaningful action lands on the audit log — the product is event-sourced, so history is never overwritten. Data is encrypted in transit, and files are served through expiring links rather than public storage. The full security posture lives on the Trust Center.

Who touches the data

Our people — all of whom have worn the uniform — access department data only to operate and support the product. Our infrastructure runs on established cloud providers in the United States (application hosting, object storage, and transactional email); those providers process data only to provide us their service, and a current list is available to customer departments on request. We never move department data outside the United States.

How long we keep it

Contact submissions are kept only as long as the conversation they started. Department data is kept for as long as the department is a customer — including the full audit trail, which we retain rather than prune because it belongs to the department. When a department leaves, its data is exported to it and then deleted from our systems.

If something goes wrong

If we become aware of a security incident affecting a department's data, we notify that department promptly and directly — a person calls, and we tell you what we know, what we're doing, and what it means for you. Notification specifics are set out in each department's service agreement.

Cookies

The product uses session cookies to keep you signed in. The marketing site sets no advertising or tracking cookies — there is nothing to consent to, which is why there's no banner. The contact form runs a Cloudflare Turnstile check to keep bots out; it verifies your browser in the moment and doesn't track you across sites.
